Sebastian Vettel, who has never been represented on any social networks, this week started an official Instagram page. Only one of the first entries there was dedicated to the fact that the 35-year-old racer leaves Formula 1.

Recently, the German racer has become fond of environmental themes, which are increasingly difficult to reconcile with the performances behind the wheel of a 1000-horsepower car. The results of his team Aston Martin in the season-2022 also did not inspire optimism.

“The decision to end performances was difficult, I have long pondered over it,” Vettel is quoted by the press service of Astin Martin. – At the end of the year I would like to spend more time to set new goals. They are very clear to me: to be a father – I want to spend more time with his family.

But today I’m not saying goodbye. Instead I would like to thank everyone, including the fans, without whose passionate support Formula 1 simply could not exist.”

Sebastian Vettel History

Vettel made his F1 debut in 2007, racing once for BMW-Sauber, and then enjoyed a dizzying career at Toro Rosso and Red Bull, becoming the youngest ever Grand Prix winner and the youngest ever world champion – a title he still holds today.

He was unstoppable in the seasons 2010-13, when he won four straight titles, and finished that stretch with a record series of nine Grand Prix won – such a thing in F1 has not been possible for anyone in the history of either before or after him.

With the change of regulations in 2014, the results of Red Bull fell, with the 2015 season Vettel went to Ferrari, but could not lead a legendary team to the title, and then could not withstand the internal competition with a young Charles Leclair.

Since 2021, he has competed for Aston Martin, in which he climbed to the podium of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix last season.

“I want to sincerely thank Sebastian for the amazing work he has done for Aston Martin over the last year and a half,” said team owner Laurence Stroll. – We made it clear to him that we want to continue to work together next year, but he decided to do what he thinks is right for him and his family. And we respect that decision.

He’s done some fantastic racing for us, and behind the scenes his experience and knowledge has been incredibly valuable to our engineers. He’s one of the greatest drivers in F1 history, and it’s been an honor to work with him.

He will continue to drive for us until the 2022 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which will be his 300th championship race. And there we will give him an unforgettable farewell.

A total of Sebastian to date – 53 race wins (the third result in the history), 57 pole and 38 best laps. He has earned more than three thousand points and is second only to Lewis Hamilton on this indicator.

Will Seb’s career end there? Are you sure?

According to Dr. Marko and Christian Horner, the four-time world champion has all the necessary qualities to succeed in Formula 1 in his new capacity

“He’s annoyingly good.” Red Bull saw Vettel as boss

The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix drew a line under Sebastian Vettel’s long and successful career in Formula 1. Over 16 years, the German has held a total of 299 races, won 53 of them and won four championship titles.

The pilot did not rule out that in the future he will return to the championship, but already in a different role. Racing consultant Red Bull Helmut Marco, who at one time stood at the origins of the success of Seb, said that the team from Milton Keynes is already preparing for such a development.

“It’s not at all impossible that he will become one of the top managers,” the Austrian told Sky Sports Germany.

Vettel held talks with Marco and RBR chief Christian Horner on Saturday after qualifying at Yas Marina. The consultant explained what was discussed: “It was a normal conversation. I think if he wants to try out the role of the head, it will succeed. We just threw a seed in the ground, now we’ll see where it goes.”

Helmut added: “He definitely has the potential for the job. And also – a very good temperament.

Horner was even more specific: “Sebastian is one of those people who are annoyingly good at everything he does. And if he decides to choose this career, then on the bridge of the team will also prove themselves.

He understands people and understands their value. He knows how to see the contributions everyone makes to the overall success. But the decision as to what he wants to do is entirely up to him.

Red Bull made it clear they would be willing to offer Vettel an appropriate position.

“We heard his thoughts, we have two teams, we are open to cooperation,” said Marco. – At the same time Sebastian is important to remember one important difference [from the work of the pilot]: the day of the manager begins earlier, ends later, and earns only a small fraction of the fee of the racer.

From 2023, another driver who previously left the team will return to Red Bull. Daniel Riccardo, who has won seven Grand Prix in cars with a red bull, will be in Milton Keynes as a reserve driver.

Many drivers don’t know what happens to their car’s exhaust gases on their way from the engine to the exhaust pipe. Your only point of contact with the exhaust is, hopefully, the rich sound it makes. It’s not the least because the exhaust system is hidden under the floor of the car. On the other hand, in a bent state, the complex component performs extremely important tasks, protecting our health and the environment.

What Does an Exhaust System Include?

As a rule, the exhaust system consists of the following parts. The beginning is the exhaust manifold, which collects exhaust gases from the cylinders, from there they enter the so-called downpipe. In the case of gasoline engines, the exhaust gases are then fed to a catalytic converter, which filters out some of the toxins. It transports harmless substances such as water and nitrogen further out. In the rear muffler, these vibrations are further minimized and noise development is further reduced. Finally, the filtered exhaust gases are discharged through the exhaust pipe. What is the position of an exhaust system? The pollutants emitted from exhaust gases are harmful to the environment and also pose a risk to human health. The exhaust system also affects the absorption of sound waves. Additionally, the exhaust system contains sound-absorbing material that isolates all noise. This technology entitles dampening the noise of diverse frequencies. Therefore, the exhaust system must be sealed so that toxins do not get into the car’s interior. The exhaust system can only fully perform its functions if the system is tight.

How to Choose an Aftermarket Exhaust System?

The price of the aftermarket exhaust system turns on its volume. Accordingly, if the driver wants to keep money, he can take a small part. You can also save on materials and construction. Though the result will not be the best: both noise absorption and gas production will suffer. Read more here.

You shouldn’t buy a part in dubious places. It’s better to buy an aftermarket exhaust system where it can be installed on a car. In this case, you don’t risk buying a spare part that will work louder than expected. Therefore, you can return or exchange the component for a quality one. Do not look for the original or the closest analog, but take a universal muffler. Many universal parts do not shine with the workmanship but cost little money. A significant drawback: with the installation of a universal exhaust system, you can cost a pretty penny.

Exhaust Systems Can Be Made from A Wide Variety of Materials

These can be various types of steel, aluminum, carbon, titanium, and various experimental alloys. Depending on what material the exhaust system will be made of, certain indicators in the operation of the car will change. Also, one system can be made of different metals. Whenchoosing an exhaust system, pay attention to the type of material. In practice, most systems are made of aluminized and, less often, galvanized steel. The carbon material itself is good, but has a very limited service life – the aftermarket exhaust system becomes completely unusable after a year or two of operation. However, the aluminized part lasts three-four times longer. Even without painting, such kind of it has high protection against corrosion.

Never confound an aluminized exhaust system with a painted black steel exhaust system. They are covered with paint, mostly silver, solely so that they don’t start to rust even before they are sold. Size is not the only parameter when choosing an exhaust system. Consider the volume of the engine and the exhaust itself, the speed of rotation of the crankshaft.

One of the best options for selecting the aftermarket exhaust system is to search by specific characteristics. To find exactly the right vote, you need to scour for all parameters, including make, model, engine characteristics, year of manufacture. You can enter all the necessary parameters in the electronic catalog, and the system will independently select the appropriate part. When choosing, be guided by the weight of the part – the heavier the exhaust system, the much better. Although it’s not possible to look inside the exhaust system, some features of the assembly are immediately evident. Pay attention to the welds. If folds of metal are visible on the system, then it’s better not to take them. You can know more information here: truckcustomizers.com.

The Aftermarket Exhaust System Isn’t Faked Too Often, But It Happens

When purchasing, a car owner should find out where the exhaust part was produced, check the information on the packaging and stickers, just in case, check the code on the manufacturer’s website to make sure the part matches.

Always pay attention to its internal structure, because it swings on how well it will perform its immediate work. If the product is of high quality, it should have a two-layer structure and a good acoustic filler that is resistant to blowing and high temperatures. Also, the volume of the aftermarket exhaust system itself and the arrangement of perforated pipes are important.

Not all exhaust systems are fixed in the same way. Thus, when buying, you will also need to choose your model according to its attachment: glued, welded, or socketed. However, at the binding level, you must also consider the outer shell, because the quality of the sound that the car will make will largely depend on it.  When buying an exhaust system, pay attention to its diameter. If the connection is tapered, it’s possible to install a larger and smaller design. This will increase the speed of movement of gases. Large diameter designs, on the other hand, will move gases slower. The design shouldn’t fit a fist. In this case, it’s unambiguously huge and reduces the system productivity. The shape of the collector also affects the power performance. It’s better to purchase modified collectors. They provide the best results.

Bottom Line

The exhaust system is an important part, and you need to choose it wisely. Moreover, knowing all the subtleties, it won’t be difficult for you.

The latest changes have been made to the European World Superbike calendar, and no new ones are expected yet: exactly one month is left before the start of the 34th World Superbike season!

The championship was born in 1988, thanks to the initiative of the Italian promoters Fabio and Matteo Flamini, as well as their partners, who then merged into Infront Motorsport with an office in Rome. The competition format proposed at the very beginning in FIM was rejected. Each national federation had a Superbike championship in its calendar, and the idea of uniting them in a certain world series looked vague due to too serious differences in regulations, and just in the concept of the word “Superbike”. What is a Superbike? The concept of “Superbike” at its core is a production motorcycle of the top class (750 cc for 1988 and 1000 cc from 2000), modified by the dealer (this is a very important point!) – lightweight, tuned and well tuned. Initially, according to Infront’s plan, the World Superbike series was supposed to become a championship of private teams – teams organized by factory dealers, but not by the factories themselves. When the first superbikes appeared, this was the case, moreover, in all national series.

Hockenheim, 1988 – the third race in World Superbike history The AMA Superbike and Australian Road Race Championsip took the lead in this type of motorcycle road racing. It was from Australia that the strongest racers came to the States to show what they are capable of. Also, the Australians set the bar in the Japanese and Pan-Asian series (they were easier to reach than America). In Europe, then the Moto Grand Prix championship ruled the ball, and serial motorcycles were chased exclusively in the tourist trophy races. There were also some championships in Italy, Germany and France, but there everyone was striving for the Grand Prix, and the trends were completely different. Finally, the British Superbike has never been as strong as it has become over the past 30 years. With the emergence of WSBK, everything changed in a couple of years. The idea of creating WorldSBK Flammini proposed to reform the Formula TT class, which implied participation in the Isle of Man TT and other trophy series of pilots on modified production motorcycles with engines of 750 and 1000 cc. The FIM agreed to give the series World Cup status. It was enough to spend the very first season at the circuit of Europe, Japan and Australia. The series was a success; in the second year, many world stars went to the start.

Loris Baz reveals the real reason for moving to MotoAmerica in 2021 https://www.trucknight.com/rolls-royce-motor/ Mon, 22 Mar 2021 23:28:00 +0000 http://demo.wenthemes.com/moto-news/?p=219 French motorcycle racer Loris Baz went through a very difficult path from one of the leaders of the STK-1000 World Cup to the driver of the factory Kawasaki Racing Team, and then an active downgrade to the private World Superbike teams.

French motorcycle racer Loris Baz went through a very difficult path from one of the leaders of the STK-1000 World Cup to the driver of the factory Kawasaki Racing Team, and then an active downgrade to the private World Superbike teams. He has now moved to the United States to compete in the MotoAmerica Championship. But why did he make this choice?

“I never thought about racing in the States. However, now the situation is in which this is probably my only chance … to return to the World Superbike “- said Baz during the tests in Road Atlanta. So, the situation is this: Loris Baz has signed a contract with the Ducati HSBK New York team for the 2021 season, and he will compete in MotoAmerica in the Superbike class in a brand new Ducati V4 R. This is a key moment. The fact is that the American office of the Italian company is behind the Ducati HSBK New York. “We had one interesting meeting … – continues Baz. – After her, I had a hope of returning to the World Championship. But I’m not sure. I’m not sure if this will come true. However, my goal is to win MotoAmerica this year with Ducati to take advantage of this minor opportunity to get into Aruba.it Racing in 2022. Let’s see if we can pull this off! ”

Loris Baz hopes to follow the path of Scott Redding, who was kicked out of MotoGP but became British Superbike champion next year. After showcasing his style and capabilities aboard the Ducati V4 R, he was recruited to the Aruba.it Racing – Ducati works team where he replaced another former MotoGP driver, Alvaro Bautista. Redding tried to impose a 2020 title fight on Jonathan Ray, but two falls took him off the shortlist for the title. At the same time, Redding really showed that he has the power and speed to fight the Kawasaki. Now, Redding’s partner in Aruba.it is the young Italian Mikel Ruben Rinaldi. Borgo-Panigale wants to try him as the team’s flagship, at the same time, this is a hint to Redding that his 2-year contract will expire in 2021. There could indeed be a vacancy on the Ducati factory team in 2022, and Baz is hoping to hop on that boat. But for this he must win the American Championship. It’s that simple!

We have already lost count of what this edition is. But obviously not the last one. At least two more events are in complete uncertainty – this is the race in Indonesia at the Autodrome in Mandalik, which is still not in the finished state. Phillip Island has previously been moved to the very end of the calendar, and if Indonesia takes place, then the Australian round should also take place. The dates are very doubtful: November 12-14 – Mandalika, and the race in Australia should take place no later than November 28. But since Dorna’s supply chains between Indonesia and Australia have not yet been established, there may be various complications and so on.

The Aspar Racing team entered all European and World Championships at once in cooperation with GasGas. This year, this is a symbolic (brand) collaboration, in fact, GasGas pilots ride prototypes of the KTM RC250RW, but with new plastic and logos. But already in 2022, this prototype will be truly unique.
Participants of the FIM / CEV Moto3 Junior World Championship Olgado started from the second line of the grid, while Ivan Ortola took pole position. Ortola, however, very quickly found himself behind Olgada.

Dani Olgado won the 1st stage of the FIM / CEV Moto3 of the 2021 season Only in the middle of the race David Salvador tried to impose a fight on TM. The group of leaders, according to the Moto3 tradition, walked quite tightly, not without this “jeep” – with the entrance to the turn, five motorcycles in a row!

Circuito do Estoril is a smooth, but technical and rather fast track, it requires good aerobatics and flawlessness. Olgado and El Salvador broke away from their pursuers and fought until the last lap.

American Joe Roberts, who joined the Italtrans Racing Team this year, topped Friday’s combined free practice protocol, with a clear lead of 0.3 seconds over his closest pursuer. But Red Bull KTM Ajo rookie Raul Fernandez hasn’t said his word yet.

Fernandez – 2nd on the basis of Friday. The young Spaniard, just entering the Moto2 class, left the pit lane three times during FP2 to find the right setup for the Time Attack. The third outing was the most successful: Fernandez immediately went through in 1: 43.6, and then improved the time for two laps in a row. Remy Gardner spent the entire session looking for a setup for the upcoming race and finished the day in 4th position, leaving Aaron Canet behind.

Moto2 championship leader Sam Lowes started the third Moto Grand Prix weekend in 7th position. Sam said that he was not looking for better times in the absolute, but was working on finding a pace for the race – and he has that pace!

]]>
As anticipated prior to the start of the penultimate AMA Supercross in Salt Lake City, the circuit created at Rice-Eccles Stadium was liked by reigning 450SX champion Eli Tomak of Kawasaki. But the victory in the decisive race was won by another.

Eli Tomak was the first to find the key to speeding through the short stadium circuit built on Thursday at Rice-Eccles Stadium, where he became world champion a year ago. The design of the track turned out, as they say, “convenient for Tomak – he loves such.” Indeed, Eli finished the best lap on Q1 in 46.980. The second qualification was already slower – 47.123, and Tomak admitted that he made a couple of mistakes in this session.

Nevertheless, he became objectively the fastest, which he proved in the second qualifying battle. Tomak won the race against Malcolm Stewart and Ken Roczen. In this race, the Team HRC driver lost 8 seconds to both leaders on 8 laps, which is not typical for Roczen. But in Salt Lake City, the German always had problems … with endurance due to heavy breathing.

The second part of the battle took place in Heat 1 – and again, between Chase Sexton and Cooper Webb. This time, Webb easily left Sexton and finished 1st. TOP-5 in the race was closed by Marvin Musken, from whom no one expected any surprises in the decisive race …

After qualifying and qualifying, Eli Tomak said:

“The key to success in this decisive race will be the start. It is important to be in the right position on the first lap, which is why entering the 1st turn is so important. Malcolm did the same thing as me, so he stalked me the entire race and had a good chance of catching me, since I made a couple of small mistakes. I will try to speed up the decisive battle. “

But at the decisive moment, as usual, everything did not go according to plan and turned upside down.

Ken Roczen had a brilliant start from the inside starting position and easily won Holeshot, taking over the initiative from the first corner. Marvin Musken of Red Bull KTM Factory Racing got off to a great start as he walked cleanly down the inner lane and sat on a Honda wheel. The third position behind Webb was taken by Joy Sawaji, the pilot of the private KTM team. But Sawaji could not stand the pace imposed by the championship leaders and soon made a mistake, fell and let 10 opponents go ahead at once. Sawaji’s place was immediately taken by Anderson.
Roczen’s main rival in the championship – Cooper Webb, this time got lost in the crowd before the 1st turn, and when he broke free, he chased Anderson for a long time. Seeing the situation, Roczen went into the lead. He tried to pick up speed and roll away from KTM: he did not see which one of the rival factory team was hanging on his wheel.

May is the traditional month for making strategic decisions for the future in MotoGP teams. This period – mid-April-mid-June – in the championship is a kind of transfer window, like in football: it opens, a very active movement begins, and those who do not have time to jump on the departing train remain out of work for a whole year.

Several interesting trends emerged in April in MotoGP, and they can dramatically change the face of the championship. First of all, we probably won’t see a new addition to Suzuki’s ranks in 2022. The plant’s management does not plan to subsidize the satellite in MotoGP. Most likely, the project will keep the 2 motorcycle format. And this opens up new perspectives for a range of Ducati and Aprilia transfers.

Team Suzuki Ecstar may keep the format in 2022 In 2022, subject to the conditions proposed by Dorna Sports, the number of Desmosedici prototypes should have been reduced to four (Factory Team and Pramac satellite). If Suzuki doesn’t give an expansion decision by the end of May, Ducati will have the option to keep 6 bikes on the grid (just as an inevitable circumstance). But Aprilia Racing, one way or another, will become a factory team and will become a full member of MSMA from January 1, 2022. And with all the wealth of choice, Noale has only one prospect: they need a satellite team to maintain contractual relations with the general promoter and IRTA. And this satellite will most likely NOT BE Gresini Racing, which has served the Aprilia factory project for the last 5 years.

Avintia Racing may leave the MotoGP paddock, making room for VR46 As Gresini Racing manager Carlo Merlini said in Portimao, after the death of Fausto Gresini, the project may reconsider its interests in MotoGP. Fausto insisted on remaining as the strongest independent team in the championship, and achieved his goal in December 2020. But with whom the team will go next, he never specified exactly. From many introductory notes, it was clear that the best option for Gresini Racing would be an Aprilia satellite. But Merlini says that now the best option for them is to move under the wing of Ducati – negotiations are already under way. Some insiders believe that through the mediation of Ducati, Gresini may field a “golden pair” of pilots in 2022 – Fabio Di Gianantonio and Enea Bastianini, who have already worked together in this team. At the same time, the Avintia Racing (Esponsorama) team will be finally torn apart: it will suffer the fate of the Aspar Racing Team, whose quota for places in MotoGP Avintia received in 2019. The same quota can be transferred to Dorna, for example, by Sky Racing Team VR46 … and this it will be easy!

The German Grand Prix, the 8th stage of the 2021 MotoGP World Championship, is scheduled for Sachenring on June 20th. By this time, Dorna is expected to reopen borders and remove major restrictions on public events. Which European Grand Prix spectators will be able to watch from the stands this year?

Sachsenring has traditionally been a magnet for motorsport fans. Most of them are Germans, whose motor culture has been inoculated since the 30s of the 20th century, and they are drawn to speed and spectacular races. Sachsenring holds a number of MotoGP attendance records – up to 223,000 per weekend. Now the situation is, of course, completely different. Lockdowns and restrictions in European countries due to Covid-19 again threaten the economy of large public events – festivals, concerts, shows, motorcycle races. In 2020, Germany was unable to host MotoGP due to the fact that without spectators, Sachsenring and the local promoter cannot earn money, and they have to pay a fee for the annual rights to the Grand Prix. They decided to skip the season to return in 2021.
MotoGP boss Carmelo Espeleta MotoGP boss Carmelo Espeleta is confident that this year he will manage to hold 18 stages, despite the high risk of canceling at least four overseas events out of 20 planned earlier. “We still want to host 18 Grand Prix. If it does not work out according to plan, we are ready to carry out some stages in a double format, as in Qatar. But we assess the situation every week and make new plans. In fact, there are many fallbacks – Plan B and Plan C. But the first thing we are striving for is that MotoGP will stop running with empty stands, ”said Espeleta after the presentation of the Spanish Grand Prix and a new contract, according to which Circuito de Jerez will be guaranteed to host the main national MotoGP race until the end of 2026. At the same time, Espeleta had to agree with the arguments of the Governments of Spain and Andalusia: the Spanish Grand Prix on May 1-2, 2021 will again be held behind closed doors. At the same time, Germany continues to cancel the stages of the IDM Superbike national championship, which was supposed to start on May 1-2 in Lausitz and continue on May 7-8 at Sachsenring – due to a lockdown, at least until May 19, any events considered “massive “will be canceled. But then … Which track is guaranteed to be the first to receive spectators?
“I think we can count on Mugello, but the main thing is Sachenring: we have already reached an agreement whereby Germany can open the doors to the audience. I hope to sell at least 10,000 tickets. But maybe there will be even more, ”said Espeleta.
